Is there evidence to support the use of red vine leaf extract for acheing varicose veins? And what is your view of the evidence- is it reliable?
We searched the TRIP and Medline databases as well as the website of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine but found very little information on the use of red vine leaf extract for treating varicose veins. In fact, we located just two small-scale non randomisedand nonplacebo-controlled trials of red vine leaf extract which used pain as an outcome measure and these were in patients with chronic venous insufficiency.
